This policy explains how SC Reinforcing collects, uses and protects your personal information.

1. Who we are

This policy is issued by SC Reinforcing (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2020/018055/07, VAT number 4270293139), which trades as SC Reinforcing from Mossel Bay and as SkySteel in George. In this policy, “we”, “us” and “our” mean SC Reinforcing.

2. The information we collect

We collect the information you give us when you contact us, ask for a quote, register as a client, apply for credit or use the Client Portal. This can include:

  • your name, company name and job title
  • phone numbers and email addresses
  • site location or town, and delivery details
  • bending schedules, drawings and other files you send us
  • company registration and VAT numbers, and your CIPC certificate
  • the information in a credit application, including the documents asked for on the form

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • respond to your enquiry and send you quotes
  • open and manage your cash or credit account
  • process, manufacture and deliver your orders
  • give you access to the Client Portal
  • keep the records we are required to keep by law

We do not currently send marketing messages. If we start doing so, we will ask for your consent first and you can unsubscribe at any time.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where we need to in order to serve you, or where the law requires it. Credit applications are handled with Colin Brull of Company World Credit.

5. How long we keep it

We keep records for 5 years, unless the law requires us to keep them for longer.

6. How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

7. Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to us using it. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.
